General medicine

P. Ananya shanthi , 3rd semester

Question 1

Long case

Detailed step by step history was taken and properly arranged in a chronological order ...it ha made it easy for us to understand how exactly the problem arose and developed

Very detailed description of all the symptoms of the patient and detailed description of what the patient and the attender have clearly told them

The diagnostic approach is very clear and appreciable, it led to better understanding of the case

Questions well answered and urine microscopy made it easier for the diagnosis

Overall a very nice presentation of the case with all kinds of approaches clearly discussed and well answered questions

Short case 1

Well taken detailed history with proper chronology and good description o the signs and symptoms even by the patient

Very detailed systemic examination and muscle gradations

The muscle gradations,  rigidity , heavy gait as the patient mentioned and tremors led us to the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease which is a neurodegenerative disease

All cranial nerve examinations were clearly described

It is idiopathic in this case as it is not secondary

Diagnostic approach was straightforward since the symptoms were quite clear

Short case 2

Well taken history with proper chronology of all events in the patient

Striations on the stomach thin skin buffalo hump ...these symptoms gave the lead to Cushing's syndrome

Very nice diagnostic approach

Also shown a few psychiatric problems which might be secondary to the actual problem since the marks are on the body and can be shown out

All case related image swere well taken and presented.

QUESTION 5

Even though we are not able to attend the practicals on our own or physically, the elogs help us understand what is going on in the hospital

Despite a lot of face to face communication with our professor,  we felt engaged as we are being given elogs to make which are really helpful for us to follow the cases and improve our understanding and knowledge

Attending the classes will definitely give a much better scope for learning

Telemedical learning is not as effective

But I take this opportunity to thank our professor and the interns and PGs who helped us a lot to feel more engaged

And have guided us through their guidance
