Question 5

It's been more or less just 2 weeks into the second year of my MBBS and we have heard from our senior that is going to be an exciting new experience for us as we would be visiting the hospital for the first time. We were already looking forward to it and hope that we won't be shut in our home due to the pandemic but unfortunately that's what happened and we are compared to learn through telecommunication

It was initially a bit confusing but we stuff to the class since it was the first time we are listening to to the actual cases with actual patients that we were able to see through the screen and then we were slowly able to get a Just of what was happening at the place and what we are supposed to take in from the class

I took up one case to make an elog and I found it very interesting as it was a new experience for me since that's the first time I was taking a history of a patient. Since the history taking was on the call it definitely was a bit awkward to both the patient and myself but it went smooth and I had expected

Even though I read of the base book of history taking before I actually to the history I did was asking a few points to the patients attender which I needed so I called him back again and and spoke to him

The patient was very patient in answering all my questions and during this I actually felt the need and the importance of being there in person the physical presence is really important Especially to build relation between a doctor and patient.

The patients attender had also shared how important this person is in his life which made me feel empathetic and actually wish for the patient to recover without any complications

I had put all the history together and try to analyse what the problem was but there were definitely a lot of fun filled gaps and questions for which I had to take my seniors help who guided me really well I also got to know the pharmacological actions of the drugs used which help in better understanding

I get receiving updates from my senior and I was actually happy since he was getting better and his condition is stable

Our physical presence would have added a better experiences to sure but at the moment I think we are able to absorb a lot of knowledge and this exposure is surely very informative the patient centred learning is really interesting as we get to converge our knowledge at one place

Even though it's  telemedical learning we got to involve and engage ourself in various cases as our professor was keen on doing that through a WhatsApp group and effectively discussing every case helped us feel involved... I really thank and appreciate the effort of a professor the pages and interns were also supported to help us learn all the details and kept interacting with us through telemedical learning even if it is a bit inconvenient for them.
